Schneider PLC application in building automation

1 Overview

with the continuous improvement of life, people have higher and higher requirements for the quality of residential and office environment. Conventional nondestructive testing methods include: for example, in civil residential buildings, the property needs to centrally monitor the lighting, water supply and drainage, elevators, garages and other necessary equipment in the community. Nowadays, the real estate industry is developing in full swing, which creates an opportunity for the use of Small PLC in building automation. This paper mainly introduces some applications of Schneider PLC Twido Series in building automation,

2 Application description

in building automation, people have increasingly obvious requirements for decentralized control and centralized management, mainly reflected in lighting, air conditioning, water supply and drainage, elevators, access control and irrigation. Here, we give three solutions based on Schneider Twido PLC

(!) Scheme 1-r controller adopts embedded single-chip microcomputer structure s485, which is suitable for a small range and has low requirements for communication speed. Natural manufacturers choose different connectors for different electrode connecting lines to deal with this problem

through RS485 serial connection and MODBUS serial protocol,

communication parameters: baud rate 19.2k, 8 data bits, Odd/even/no check, 1 stop bit

advantages: simple group and low cost

disadvantages: the communication rate is slow. When the distance between the monitoring computer and the farthest slave station exceeds 200 meters, it needs to add relay

(2) scheme 2 - Ethernet, which is suitable for occasions with high communication speed.

module configuration is realized through Ethernet and Modbus tcp/ip protocol: twdlcae40drf or other Twido ontology plus twidoport Ethernet module

communication parameters: baud rate 10m or 100m

advantages: fast communication speed, The number of network nodes is unlimited, which depends on the network scheme

In the automotive field

disadvantages: the length from ordinary hub or switch port to node cannot exceed 100 meters. If the length needs to be expanded, the network needs to be optimized, which requires engineers to have deep network knowledge

(3) scheme 3 - wireless network, which is applicable to wireless communication with low requirements for communication speed

through Ethernet, MODBUS tcp/ip, CDMA or GPRS

advantages: realize wireless communication, which can be used for centralized management of multiple communities or even cities

disadvantages: compared with scheme 2, the speed is slow, and the communication cost of CDMA or GPRS needs to be added, and the inrooter router needs to be purchased

3. Conclusion

Schneider Twido PLC has been successfully applied in a community in Shanghai. With the country's strong investment in infrastructure, it can also be extended to other infrastructure areas, such as unmanned gas meter reading, gas station monitoring, mobile company base station monitoring, and so on
