However, in the 21st century of digitalization, the traditional proofing technology shows more and more deficiencies in color image reproduction performance, image resolution, image clarity, stability, consistency, output speed, system cost and personnel quality requirements. advantages and disadvantages of traditional digital proofing

digital proofing technology has aroused great concern in the printing industry. People in the printing industry have high hopes for it. Speed and stability have become the two advantages of digital proofing. These two advantages are mainly reflected in

first, good reducibility and stable color. Digital proofing adopts full digital process flow, which completely avoids the uncertain factors of manpower in traditional proofing, and is very little affected by manpower. Second, fast proofing and high efficiency, suitable for short version printing. As mentioned above, printing, as a testing instrument, can not just look at the price of a high-quality folio sample. Digital proofing can be completed within 20 minutes, almost half of the traditional proofing time. Third, small land occupation and low investment. Digital proofing only needs more than ten square meters. It can work in the general office environment. The initial investment only needs hundreds of thousands of yuan (computers, large format printers and related software), which is unmatched by traditional technologies. Fourth, the whole process is digital, easy to use and easy to operate. Fifth, it can realize remote digital proofing in different places, breaking through the limitation of time and space: it uses network technology to transport digital files to remote sites, and uses proofing equipment for digital proofing to provide users with digital proofs, which is simple and practical. Sixthly, no film proofing is achieved. The use of film is eliminated. On the one hand, it reduces the printing, film production and other links in the traditional proofing process. On the other hand, it also caters to the development trend of green printing and is conducive to environmental protection

because digital proofing has the above outstanding advantages, in recent years, digital proofing technology has been quickly promoted and popularized, and people gradually realize the efficiency and advantages of this technology. However, all advantages have disadvantages. With the popularization of digital technology, its disadvantages are gradually revealed, mainly reflected in:

1 Although the development of digital proofing technology is becoming more and more mature, the process of digital proofing is still far behind that of China's sealing machine industry. In particular, China's printing industry is not unique in terms of printing suitability and lacks a unified standard for digital proofing equipment; The color between various printing equipment is unstable, and the real color management cannot be realized

According to professional personnel analysis, in the world, digital proofing color matching is based on European standards, which is not suitable for the standards of China's existing printing plants. That is to say, when we introduced its hardware equipment, we did not really integrate it into the Chinese market, so that it can be used only by ourselves. The original digital proofing system is only a single hardware platform. With the passage of time, it can not adapt to the development of digital proofing, which also affects its development and promotion in China

3. The matching between the management software of digital proofing and the printing machine, imagesetter and other supporting equipment is still inconsistent

4. The sample modification process is tedious and the cost is high. Although it is better than the traditional proofing method, the traditional digital proofing is that the customer takes the prepared electronic documents to the color printing factory for digital proofing, then feeds back the printed samples to the customer for signature and approval, and then feeds back the information to the printing factory for plate making and printing. If there is any error in the samples, they will be returned to the customer for modification and repeat the above process. In order to produce a satisfactory sample, customers often have to increase the testing of whether the core material in the composite board meets the standard several times or even more times according to international practice. Even if the customer only makes a small change, they must get it to the color printing factory for re proofing. In terms of cost, it is expensive to produce a large-scale sample film.
